Scholarship Award 2010

1st Award:

Josefina Moreno-Pluma - Josefina is a native Mexican and currently attending Forest Park Community College to obtain an Associate in Accounting. She works at Fitz's Restaurant as a server and also serves as a Hispanic Community Liaison for Club La Onda. Besides working and studying, she has been involved in community service in both Mexico and the United States. She enjoys dancing, playing sports and working out. This talented young woman is truly an example of strong spirit and determination.

2nd Award:

Jessica Ramirez-Arellano - Jessica is native Mexican and currently attending Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville to obtain her degree in Psychology and Social Work. She also works at as a Cashier/Hostess at El Maguey Mexican Restaurant in Chesterfield. Aside from work and school, she is a member of the Puertas Program that helps Hispanic students get into college. She is already serving as a great role model for our community and will be the first in her family to graduate from college.

Scholarship Award 2009

1^st Award:

Natalia E. Birgisson - Natalia has been admitted to Stanford's, she will graduate in 2013! She has always been dedicated to the community and helping others; Natalia arrived in St. Louis and immediately got involved as much as she could. She speaks five languages! Her father is originally from Norway and her mother is from Venezuela.

2^nd Award:

Mario Santander - Mario is currently attending Webster University here in St. Louis, MO but for a semester studied abroad at Webster's campus in Thailand. He was born in Mexico, but raised mostly in USA. Mario is currently studying to earn a Master in Business Administration (MBA) degree.

3^rd Award:

Emma F. Palleja - Emma has been admitted to Rockhurst University in Kansas City MO. Emma was born in St. Louis and her heritage is from Puerto Rico. She will major in Physical Therapy and she also likes Flamenco!
